Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to develop a decision model to evaluate and select a campus-wide ePortfolio solution using hierarchal decision modeling. A case study from Portland State University is used to validate the model. By utilizing an hierarchy structure, the requirements were filtered to reduce the business requirements and solutions to a manageable set of objectives, factors, criteria, and alternatives. The model was validated by a panel of subject-matter experts and the importance of factors and criteria were ranked and then analyzed through pairwise comparisons. The final outcome of the model is a decision and recommendation on the best ePortfolio platform for PSU based on the selected alternatives.
