Digital Literacy Specialist; Central Piedmont Community College's Library Instructional and Research Services

Donald L. Michael Jr. is the Digital Literacy Specialist for Central Piedmont Community College's Library Instructional and Research Services department. He manages the Digital Literacy Learning Space (DLLS), which serves all six campuses with digital literacy assessments, student-directed technology training, centralized student technology training, content development, and campus digital equity advocacy. The DLLS is Central Piedmont's first centralized student technology training support for basic and workforce digital literacy training needs. A few of Don's servant-leader contributions are membership with the Center for Digital Equity in Charlotte, NC., he is an alum cohort for the Institute of Emerging Issues, and a think cohort for the Transatlantic Cities of Tomorrow 2019-2023. He has taught graphics at several universities and the Art Institute of Charlotte and served as a seven-year veteran as a program coordinator for Central Piedmont's Information Technology Services department managing education technology committees and projects.
